Blue Wander (I)

This painting was inspired by many coastal walks, musing on the age and beauty of the ancient rocks of West Cornwall, and the depth of the sea out beyond the bay.  It is mainly in dark hues combining Prussian Blue with greys and blacks for depth, and includes natural earth pigments and rock powders. Cold wax medium add body and texture to the paint mix.   It is one of a series of three paintings in which the building of many layers and the removal and addition of paint during the process helped create a rich aged patina.
