This painting was inspired by the coastline and the interplay between sky, sea and rocks here in West Cornwall. I aimed to create a rich multi-layered surface and a strong sense of movement of the elements. Prussian Blue and natural earth pigments were combined with rock powders and cold wax medium to impart texture during the process of creating and scraping back layers.
Framed, white St Ives tray frame, framed size 45.5 x 55.5 x 3.5 cm.
