New work available late Summer / Autumn 2024
This is a new body of work created in the first half of 2024. Some of this work featured in the 'Lines of Connection' exhibition held in August at the Crypt Gallery, St Ives Society of Artists.
The new work was my response to long walks in the winter and spring along the South West Coast Path in West Penwith. The work includes two groups of larger paintings, 'The Path to the Minack', emerging from my walks between Land's End and Porthcurno, the home to the Minack Theatre, and 'To Zennor', celebrating the beautiful coast walk from St Ives to the ancient village of Zennor. The 'Forgotten' paintings on aluminium panels are reflections on the legacy of the tin and copper mining industry around Botallack. I'm delighted that one of them was accepted into the Royal West of England Academy Open Exhibition in Bristol, which runs until 5 January 2025.
