New work available August 2024 and 'Lines of Connection' exhibition in St Ives

This is a new body of work created in the first half of 2024. Much of this work features in the 'Lines of Connection' exhibition (with the Far Flung Collective) at the Crypt Gallery, St Ives Society of Artists, opening Sunday 11 August until Friday 23 August, open 10 am to 5.30 pm each day.

The new work was my response to long walks in the winter and spring along the coast between St Ives around Land's End to Porthcurno, and on the Gwithian coast on the east side of St Ives Bay.  The work includes two groups of larger paintings, 'The Path to the Minack', emerging from my walks between Land's End and Porthcurno, the home to the Minack Theatre, and 'To Zennor', celebrating the beautiful coast walk from St Ives to the ancient village of Zennor. The 'Forgotten' paintings on aluminium panels are reflections on the legacy of the tin and copper mining industry around Botallack. I'm delighted that one of them has been accepted into the Royal West of England Academy Open Exhibition in Bristol, which will run from 14 September to 5 January.

I hope you enjoy this new work.
